Hello 4th graders and Families!!!
I am so excited for this year. After teaching 5th grade for seven years and resource room for six I am now embarking on a new journey in 4th grade!!! This will be a wonderful year. I have learned so much over the summer in preparation for this year and am very eager to be the facilitator of the 4th graders in my classroom this year.
This summer we spent a lot of time swimming and traveling. We were able to visit Saugutuck, Michigan Adventure, and we made it up to Crystal Mountain a couple of times (since this is where my parents live). I also had the opportunity to coach teachers on math workshop during Brandon's Summer School Program.
My family is blessed with two girls, a soon to be 7 year old named Ellie and a 5 year old named Gracie, I also have a fun husband named Bill. We have a 95 pound mutt named Sampson, whom we just love. Our family loves swimming, riding bikes, and three out of the four of us enjoy skiing, my husband has not found the love. We love MSU football, basketball and the Tigers! While I myself graduated from Western Michigan my husband graduated from State along with four of his other siblings, so by default I have come to love MSU :) I went on to receive my masters from Oakland University in Reading and Language Arts, so I have love for many universities in Michigan.
My husband comes from a family of six kids so I am blessed with many neices and nephews, as well as sister and brother in-laws. I, myself have a sister who is married and lives in Auburn, Alabama. The picture up above is a picture of my daughters, husband, mom, dad, sister, and brother-in-law at Crystal Mountain. I am in the green shirt and my husband is in the blue and white striped shirt.
When I have spare time I enjoy reading anything and everything about teaching and I love reading new recipes. I also enjoy pinning all my finds on Pinterest :) Cooking is another love that I have. I love dancing and singing with my girls, which the students will be sure to catch glimpses of this year, my guess is it will be much to their chagrin :) My new favorite songs are from Teen Beach Movie. I love participating in triathalons and for the last two years have participated in the Warrior Dash. Another trait of mine is I like to try new things: food, activities, etc... and one of my goals is to pass this love onto my own children and new students. Each year I try to do a couple things to step out of my comfort zone and expand my horizons.
I look forward to being a teacher that will love your child, challenge them to their greatest potential, and grow their confidence. Let's make this year a great one!!!!
